March 16—The spirit of Lei Feng is spreading across the globe, and voluntary blood donation warms people’s hearts. March is “Lei Feng Month,” and since the beginning of March, the Hebei Provincial Blood Center has organized a series of activities to put the spirit of Lei Feng into practice through voluntary blood donation. This morning, the Hebei Provincial Blood Center joined forces with Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to launch a voluntary blood donation event titled “Following in Lei Feng’s Footsteps, Upholding the Spirit of Sihua.”
Around 9 a.m., the voluntary blood donation event officially kicked off. Under the orderly guidance of the staff, the volunteer blood donors carefully filled out their personal information, thoroughly familiarized themselves with blood donation knowledge and relevant precautions, and then lined up in turn to complete the registration form, have their blood pressure checked, and determine their blood type... The blood donation site was well-organized and smooth. They expressed that by participating in voluntary blood donation, they are putting Lei Feng’s spirit into practice through concrete actions—benefiting their own health while also supporting social welfare initiatives.
Among the blood donors are both leaders from the company’s workshops and frontline employees. Some are donating blood for the first time, while others have already donated many times, generously giving their support time and again. Chen Wenbin, 33, was the first to step onto the blood-drawing vehicle—this was his very first blood-donation experience. He said that he’d never had the chance before, but this time, with the blood-drawing vehicle coming right into the company, he felt it was an excellent opportunity and bravely took his first step. Zhang Chaoxu, 30, is participating in a blood-donation drive for the sixth time—but this is his very first time donating blood at his workplace. “I felt a bit nervous during my first donation, so I only gave 200 milliliters. But after discovering that donating blood not only benefits one’s own health but also helps others extend their lives, I’ve stuck with it ever since, giving 400 milliliters each time. So far, I’ve accumulated a total of 2,200 milliliters.” Li Zebing, 34, had planned to stay home and rest today, but upon hearing about the blood-donation drive, he hurriedly made his way from home to join the event. “Donating blood can help more people—it’s truly meaningful,” he said.
It is reported that on that day, 57 volunteer blood donors from the company boarded the blood-collection vehicle, collectively donating a total of 20,200 milliliters of blood voluntarily. Chen Li, deputy director of the Hebei Provincial Blood Center, presented a banner to Song Mingxia, chairperson of the trade union of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., expressing heartfelt gratitude for the company’s strong support of voluntary blood donation efforts.
