In his concluding remarks, Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, pointed out that in the first half of this year, thanks to the exemplary leadership and hands-on guidance provided by the R&D team led by Sun Lijie, and through the concerted efforts of all research personnel, our R&D and innovation work has steadily flourished, yielding remarkable achievements. As of now, we have been approved for a total of 22 new product projects and have submitted 54 additional new product proposals. Our output and efficiency in developing specialty generic drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredients rank among the top in the country. Faced with a fiercely competitive landscape in which thousands of pharmaceutical companies are vying for supremacy, these outstanding accomplishments are truly something for every R&D professional—and indeed every member of Sihua—to be proud of. These continuous streams of innovative breakthroughs are injecting powerful momentum into the Group’s sustainable development, giving Sihua the confidence and courage to meet any challenge head-on. He expressed heartfelt admiration and sincere gratitude to all research personnel for their hard work and positive contributions toward driving the company’s high-quality, innovative development, and extended warm congratulations to the advanced R&D teams and individuals who have been recognized and rewarded.
After more than two years of relentless efforts, the R&D endeavors at Siyao are undergoing a historic shift—from focusing on whether or not we have certain products to emphasizing how good those products are. Not only have we established a relatively robust R&D system and mechanism, but we’ve also assembled a talented team endowed with a spirit of innovation and determination to push R&D to even higher levels. Faced with the new reality of rapidly advancing industry competition, Qu Jiguang proposed that the R&D department should adopt an even more proactive attitude and take concrete actions, set ambitious goals to strive for world-class excellence, accelerate the pace of industrial innovation, address development shortcomings, narrow the gap with industry benchmarks, keep pace with the trends of the times, and once again reach new heights.
Regarding further enhancing R&D and innovation efforts, Qu Jiguang called for the following: First, we must achieve new breakthroughs in accelerating the development of specialized generic drugs. Leveraging our collaborative mechanisms with universities and research institutes, we should strengthen our gatekeeping role in project initiation, re-examine both ongoing and planned drug candidates, and shift our R&D portfolio adjustment strategy from primarily expanding capacity through incremental growth to a balanced approach that both optimizes existing projects and fosters new ones. Second, we must make new progress in advancing the development of innovative drugs. We need to closely monitor cutting-edge academic and market trends in innovative drug development, clearly prioritize projects according to their urgency and importance, and accelerate the R&D of key projects to achieve new breakthroughs and make new strides. Third, we must give equal weight to both R&D and commercialization, ensuring that more new products are successfully brought to market and fully realized, thereby maximizing their benefits. Fourth, we must further intensify our efforts in talent development, refine the structure of our talent pool, and enhance the precision and effectiveness of our talent management. While continuing to attract high-caliber, industry-relevant talent from outside, we should also assign them challenging responsibilities, entrust them with specific projects, and lead teams, thereby cultivating and identifying talent through hands-on research and development practice.
Striving is a source of happiness, and those who strive are in the prime of their youth. At present, Shijiazhuang is presenting the biopharmaceutical industry with a rare opportunity to achieve breakthroughs ahead of others, and “striving” has become the key theme that resonates with the progress of our times. Qu Jiguang warmly encouraged all R&D personnel to be bold in their efforts, dedicated to their work, and willing to take on responsibilities. They should continue to maintain a humble and prudent attitude, avoiding both arrogance and impatience. Let us compete with one another, unite in our efforts, and persevere through hardship. With the spirit of “achieving prosperity for Shijiazhuang through practical action—whose else but us?” let us shoulder the mission entrusted to us by the times, forge a bright future through our endeavors, and realize our best selves through relentless striving.
Now that the wind is favorable, it’s precisely the right time to hoist the sails and step up the pace even further. The summary conference deeply inspired our R&D personnel, who unanimously expressed their determination to carry forward the fine tradition of daring to tackle tough challenges and excelling at turning ideas into reality. We’ll keep rolling up our sleeves, working diligently and persistently, living up to our mission, and contributing our strength as R&D professionals from Siyao to promote the Group’s high-quality development, help Shijiazhuang’s economy surpass one trillion yuan in total output, and spearhead breakthroughs in the biopharmaceutical industry. Let us greet the victorious convening of the Party Congress with outstanding achievements!
