This marks another significant step forward in our city’s collaborative efforts between universities and enterprises to cultivate innovative, high-level pharmaceutical talents. As a key national “Double First-Class” university in China that excels in both teaching and research in the field of pharmacy, China Pharmaceutical University has achieved remarkable results in talent cultivation and specialized R&D, drawing widespread attention from the industry.
Shi Si Pharmaceutical Group enjoys a long-standing, friendly cooperative relationship with China Pharmaceutical University. In June 2021, the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement, establishing platforms for joint research and talent development, including co-built laboratories and undergraduate internship bases. Over the past year, driven by innovation-driven capital and project development, the university and the company have actively integrated their respective talents and resource advantages, focusing on innovative demands such as novel compounds and innovative small-molecule targeted drugs. They have carried out a series of practical collaborations—including joint R&D of innovative drugs, evaluation of innovative drug pipeline projects, and technical guidance for generic drug development—achieving a number of remarkable results and helping the company move toward the high end of the value chain. This year, Shi Si Pharmaceutical Group accepted 43 undergraduate students from China Pharmaceutical University at one time for their graduation internships, injecting the “Shijiazhuang gene” into talent cultivation and garnering widespread attention both within and beyond the industry.
It is understood that, in this collaboration, Shisi Pharmaceutical Group and China Pharmaceutical University will jointly establish a university-level practice base for professional-degree graduate students and an off-campus internship practice base for college students. Focusing on cultivating high-level talent, driven by scientific research innovation, and supported by resource sharing, the two parties will tap into and leverage their respective strengths to jointly create new approaches, mechanisms, and models for the collaborative training of high-level, application-oriented professionals. This initiative will truly achieve co-construction between universities and enterprises and the integration of industry and education, setting a benchmark model for the cultivation and attraction of high-level talent in our city’s biopharmaceutical industry.
Lu Tao, Vice President of China Pharmaceutical University, stated: “Shijiazhuang’s pharmaceutical industry ranks among the leading ones nationwide, with a robust demand for talented professionals. This collaborative initiative will provide students with ample opportunities for hands-on experience, deepen their understanding of enterprises, and open up more career options in the future. We hope that through this collaboration, both the university and the enterprise can achieve mutual benefits and jointly enhance the research capabilities of undergraduate and graduate students.”
Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shiyao Group, stated that the company will actively explore new approaches to collaborative graduate education, further refine the talent-development mechanism that integrates industry, academia, research, and education, and ensure solid implementation of graduate teaching and training. Shiyao Group is committed to setting high standards in talent development, building an innovative, research-oriented, and practice-based institution of excellence, and cultivating a group of highly qualified pharmaceutical professionals who possess strong theoretical foundations, solid professional skills, and the ability to drive industrial innovation. In doing so, Shiyao Group aims to contribute to accelerating the development of discipline construction in industry-education integrated universities and to promoting the high-quality growth of Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical sector.
