On August 3, Shao Xudong, Chairman and General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Economic Daily, and his delegation visited Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group and engaged in an in-depth exchange on strengthening media-enterprise cooperation and promoting industrial development. Wu Hengyao, President of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group, and Shi Jianhui, Secretary of the Party Committee, warmly welcomed Shao Xudong and his delegation.
During their visit to Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, Shao Xudong and his delegation went deep into the production facilities and R&D center of the Siji High-tech Zone, carefully examining and gaining a thorough understanding of the company’s production operations, scientific research and innovation efforts, and industrial planning. They highly praised the achievements made by Shisi Pharmaceutical Group in seizing opportunities and driving high-quality development through innovation.
Wu Hengyao warmly welcomed Shao Xudong and his delegation, expressing gratitude for the long-term attention, support, and assistance provided by the Pharmaceutical Economic Report to the development of Siyao. He then briefly introduced the company’s business development status. He noted that Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical industry is now experiencing its best-ever opportunity for growth. Since last year, Siyao has actively responded to the decisions made by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to prioritize breakthroughs in two leading industries—next-generation information technology and biopharmaceuticals—and to build industrial clusters worth hundreds of billions of yuan. Seizing these development opportunities, Siyao has been guided by the goal of smoothing both domestic and international market cycles, leveraging its comparative advantages to build competitive strengths, aligning industrial chains with innovation chains, and accelerating its move toward the mid-to-high end of the value chain. Anchoring itself firmly on industry frontiers and market demands, Siyao has clearly articulated a research and development strategy that combines generic drug development with innovative drug creation, highlights distinctive features, and focuses on key areas. By strengthening top-level planning and systematic benchmarking, Siyao is comprehensively promoting the development and research of generic drugs, innovative drugs, specialty APIs, and products undergoing consistency evaluations. Leveraging a series of enterprise-benefiting policies adopted by Shijiazhuang to help the biopharmaceutical industry achieve breakthroughs, Siyao continues to build momentum and empower its high-quality development, creating new advantages and a new pattern for the “formulation + API” industry to advance competitively. Through joint scientific research efforts with renowned domestic and international universities and research institutes, and by adopting the “listing-and-command” approach, Siyao has accelerated R&D and industrial deployment at the forefront of the value chain, covering specialty generic drugs, specialty APIs, innovative drugs, and bio-diagnostic reagents. To date, Siyao has had 26 varieties comprising 35 specifications successfully pass the national evaluation for generic drug quality and efficacy consistency, and 8 varieties with 11 specifications have been selected for national centralized drug procurement. These achievements have enabled Siyao to contribute significantly to improving drug accessibility, reducing the financial burden of medication on the public, and supporting the construction of a Healthy China. In the first six months of this year, Siyao obtained approval for 22 new products, including the nation’s first generic version of Bunanoxetine tablets and Acetaminophen Mannitol Injection. The number of approvals obtained so far this year has already exceeded the total for all of last year, marking a concentrated “harvest period” for R&D innovation. Siyao’s efficiency and output in developing specialty generic drugs have placed it among the leading enterprises in the national pharmaceutical industry. In the first half of this year, Siyao’s sales revenue and profits and taxes both saw double-digit growth, as the innovation chain, industrial chain, and value chain mutually reinforce each other and rise in tandem, providing the company with powerful impetus for continued growth.
Shao Xudong expressed his admiration for the remarkable achievements that Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group has made over the past two years. He said that both his visit to the group’s headquarters and his attendance, a month ago, at the listing ceremony of Bosheng Medical Devices on the Innovation Board—as well as the inauguration of its newly built biomembrane production line—had left him with profoundly positive and lasting impressions. Everywhere he went, he keenly felt Shijiazhuang’s strong commitment to revitalizing and developing its pharmaceutical industry, which has brought about tremendous changes for a number of outstanding Shijiazhuang-based pharmaceutical enterprises, including Shijia No.4 Pharmaceutical Group itself. The quality transformation, efficiency transformation, and momentum transformation evident in these enterprises have been truly inspiring for the entire industry. He noted that as a leading industry newspaper sponsored and organized by the Southern Institute of Pharmaceutical Economics under the National Medical Products Administration, the Pharmaceutical Economic News enjoys a deep-rooted and longstanding friendship with Shijia No.4 Pharmaceutical Group. Going forward, the newspaper will continue to leverage its expertise and strengths as a professional publication to better serve and promote leading biopharmaceutical companies, thereby contributing to the healthy development of the pharmaceutical economy.
