Embarking on a new journey with confident strides, we set sail once again. On the morning of May 28, the conference hall of the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group was filled with an atmosphere of warmth and solemnity as the Group’s R&D Center held its 2022 First-Quarter Summary and Awards Conference, themed “Summarizing, Recognizing Achievements, and Re-deploying Efforts.”
Stepping boldly into a new journey and setting sail once again—on the morning of May 28, the conference hall of the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group was filled with an atmosphere of warmth and solemnity. Here, the Group’s R&D Center held a grand summary and commendation meeting for the first quarter of 2022, themed “Summarizing, Commending, and Re-deploying.” Representatives of the Group’s R&D and scientific-technological personnel gathered together with Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors; Su Xuejun, Chairman of the Board; Shi Jianhui, Secretary of the Party Committee; Sun Lijie, Executive President, and other distinguished guests. The meeting served to review the phased R&D innovation efforts made so far this year, analyze and assess the development trends in the industry, and carefully plan and deploy key priorities for future research endeavors, thereby further propelling the Group’s high-quality development to a new level and achieving new breakthroughs. The meeting was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.
At the meeting, heads of the Solid Dosage Form Research Institute, Liquid Dosage Form Research Institute, Innovative Drug Research Institute, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Research Institute, and Medical Center reported on their work progress from January to May and outlined key priorities for the coming period. Group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, and others provided comments on the progress of key research projects and offered suggestions for improvement.
Sun Lijie, Group CEO and General Manager of the R&D Center, comprehensively summarized the group’s new achievements in R&D and innovation for the first quarter of this year. He objectively analyzed the challenges and opportunities ahead and put forward improvement measures and requirements aimed at further enhancing the quality and accelerating the pace of research projects, strengthening talent development and recruitment, and refining the performance evaluation mechanism.
The conference announced the list of outstanding contributors from the R&D Center, progressive employees of the R&D Center, and excellent departments within the R&D Center. The honored individuals and representatives of advanced teams stepped onto the stage with high spirits and received certificates or trophies from the group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, and Shi Jianhui. The entire audience erupted in enthusiastic applause to offer their congratulations. Cui Xuemei, representing the advanced individuals honored, delivered a speech at the conference on behalf of all awardees.
Chairman Qu Jiguang of the Board of Directors extended his congratulations to the outstanding teams and individuals who have been recognized, and expressed his heartfelt admiration and sincere gratitude to all research and development personnel for their hard work and positive contributions toward driving the company’s innovative, high-quality development. He pointed out that since the beginning of this year, all R&D staff have demonstrated remarkable dedication, worked tirelessly without seeking personal gain, and shown great professionalism and commitment, achieving impressive R&D results. From January to May this year, a total of 24 projects were submitted, including 6 active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) varieties, 5 solid dosage forms comprising 7 specifications, and 10 liquid dosage forms comprising 11 specifications. Among these, 16 projects have already been approved. These new products have effectively promoted the optimization and upgrading of the company’s product portfolio, significantly enhancing the company’s image and market position within the industry. As a result, the company now faces future challenges with greater confidence and determination. These historic transformations fully demonstrate that Sihua Pharmaceutical has built an innovative team—one that dares to fight, is willing to go all out, and is determined to achieve victory, capable of shouldering the heavy responsibility of driving the company’s leapfrog development. Whether it’s the size of the R&D team, the development of talent levels, the innovation-driven institutional mechanisms, or the achievements in scientific research and development, Sihua Pharmaceutical has made historic breakthroughs and undergone transformative changes, delivering results that have drawn widespread acclaim from the industry.
Qu Jiguang pointed out that the Group has reached a critical juncture in its transformation and upgrading, standing at a new historical position and turning point. The emerging opportunities and challenges have entrusted R&D scientists and engineers with an even more arduous yet glorious mission and set of tasks. He called for closely aligning R&D efforts with both national strategies and market demands, ensuring that the development of new varieties becomes more targeted and truly grounded in practical needs. It is essential to move beyond “mass tactics” and adopt “elite warfare,” leveraging innovation across the entire industrial chain to shift R&D personnel’s innovation capabilities from imitation-based manufacturing toward exploration and discovery. We must make full use of all resources created by the enterprise, skillfully harnessing external strengths—such as expertise, talent, and momentum—to achieve breakthroughs and accelerate project development, talent cultivation, and the industrialization of research outcomes, thereby propelling the enterprise’s innovative development to a new level. In conjunction with innovative practices, we must continuously refine foundational reforms, including project evaluation systems and talent assessment mechanisms, so that leading scientific and technological talents who are eager to act, capable of delivering results, and committed to success can take the helm and lead the charge. We must ensure that those who make genuine contributions reap both fame and fortune. Moreover, we need to muster greater courage to drive the transformation of R&D mechanisms, reform working styles, enhance capabilities, grant the Research Institute greater authority over technical direction, and provide it with more autonomy in profit distribution. This will enable R&D personnel to generate even more innovative achievements and allow these innovations to benefit them directly.
Young people are the most vibrant, most enterprising, and least conservative group. Qu Jiguang enthusiastically encouraged all R&D personnel within the group, urging everyone to keep up that same sense of drive and passion—remaining humble and avoiding complacency or arrogance—daring to shoulder responsibilities and missions, and striving to realize their aspirations and achieve remarkable accomplishments in the company’s development. May the flowers of youth bloom brilliantly on the journey of scientific research and innovation, so as not to let down this precious youthful time.
The summary and commendation conference greatly inspired and encouraged the R&D personnel. Everyone expressed their determination to proactively benchmark against industry leaders, consciously strive for world-class standards, and adopt a spirit of urgency and diligence. With the attitude of fighters and the courage of pioneers, they pledged to overcome difficulties, achieve even greater successes, and ensure the timely completion of all annual innovation goals and tasks. They are committed to celebrating the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with new achievements born from innovation and creativity.
