“A year’s plan starts with spring.” On March 2, as a gentle breeze caressed our faces and the sun shone brightly, the construction site of Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. under Shijiazhuang Siyao Group—a new formulation and biopharmaceutical industrial park—was bustling with activity, dotted with towering cranes, presenting a scene of vigorous and enthusiastic construction.
“A year’s plan starts with spring.” On March 2, as a gentle breeze caressed our faces and the sun shone brightly, the construction site of the new formulation and biopharmaceutical industrial park project of Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., part of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group, was bustling with activity. Tower cranes stood tall everywhere, creating a scene of vigorous and enthusiastic construction. Zhao Yongzheng, Executive President of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group, who is in charge of the project’s construction, said with deep emotion: “Right now, our city has entered a new upsurge in the construction of key projects. As a leading pharmaceutical enterprise, we will seize this development opportunity, accelerate the pace of infrastructure project construction, and strive to complete and put these projects into operation as soon as possible, making every effort to contribute to our city’s goal of exceeding one trillion yuan in economic output.”
The Guolong Pharmaceutical New Formulation and Biopharmaceutical Industrial Park project covers an area of approximately 155 mu and is planned to have a total construction area of 130,000 square meters. Leveraging the advantageous location and industrial agglomeration of the Shijiazhuang Economic-Technological Development Zone, the project is being developed by the Shisi Pharmaceutical Group to meet international first-class pharmaceutical standards, creating a high-standard, high-quality, and modern pharmaceutical industrial park with an international perspective. It also serves as a strategic support project and a key provincial, municipal, and district-level initiative for the Shisi Pharmaceutical Group during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, aimed at accelerating its transformation and upgrading, achieving leaps in development, and building a company with revenues exceeding 20 billion yuan.
"On the sixth day of the first lunar month, we kicked off the project’s final sprint, with nearly a hundred workers working tirelessly on the front lines. Currently, the finished-product automated warehouse and the main structure of the power workshop have been completed, and construction of specialized active pharmaceutical ingredient production workshops is in full swing. These facilities will be put into operation one after another within the year."
Zhao Yongzheng introduced that, in response to the new market conditions, Shijiazhuang Sihua Group’s Guolong Pharmaceutical has placed innovation-driven development at the core of its strategy. The company is accelerating the construction of an integrated production, research, and application innovation base centered on “specialty APIs plus formulations,” with a strong emphasis on enhancing the quality and efficiency of its development. As a result, a wealth of innovative achievements have emerged, continuously injecting fresh vitality into the company’s growth. At the end of last year, the company was recognized as a provincial specialized, sophisticated, and new small and medium-sized enterprise and a demonstration enterprise for specialization and sophistication, and has now joined the ranks of high-tech enterprises.
“We’ve already developed more than 30 specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients, and 17 of them—including tenofovir disoproxil fumarate—have already been approved. These specialty products are highly popular, and over 20 formulation manufacturers are now engaging in deep-level collaborations with us. The market outlook is extremely promising. Even during the Spring Festival, we’ve had to arrange production schedules. For instance, a single kilogram of our specialty API terbutaline sulfate is worth hundreds of thousands of yuan, and demand far exceeds supply.”

The project will be constructed according to international standards, utilizing the most advanced domestic and international production equipment. It will seamlessly integrate intelligent manufacturing with cutting-edge production processes, striving wholeheartedly to create a distinctive, environmentally friendly, safe, and highly efficient model green factory that sets a benchmark in the industry.
The blueprint has been drawn, and now is the perfect time to start building. As he watches the encouraging progress of the project, Zhao Yongzheng becomes even more eager and optimistic about its success. “With the strong support from our city and Gaocheng District, we’ll harness a sense of urgency and work with relentless determination to accelerate the project’s pace, striving to make our city a pioneer in breaking new ground in the biopharmaceutical industry.”
