Recently, an unusual remote bidding conference is underway in the video conference room of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Recently, an unusual remote bidding conference was held in the videoconference room of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. In the conference room, only a few staff members from Shijiazhuang Sihua’s equipment and other departments, along with members of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, sat spaced apart. On the display screens mounted on the wall, bid information from each bidding company was shown simultaneously, creating a tense yet orderly atmosphere at the bidding site.
“According to the company’s development plan, we have a great number of new projects and renovation initiatives this year. Just as we were preparing to roll up our sleeves and get down to work, we unexpectedly ran into this sudden epidemic,” said Liu Miao, head of the Equipment Department.
The epidemic has not slowed down Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical’s pace of development. To effectively carry out epidemic prevention and control as well as resumption of work and production, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical has taken a proactive and independent approach, coordinating all aspects of resuming work and production in an integrated manner. It has promptly addressed various obstacles and challenges that hindered the resumption process and actively leveraged the powerful capabilities of “Internet Plus,” shifting from traditional “face-to-face” interactions to “screen-to-screen” communication. By employing video conferencing, online recruitment platforms, and WeChat groups, the company has advanced its work, improved operational efficiency, and ensured that both epidemic prevention and transparent procurement are fully implemented.
“We’re fully implementing online bidding and bid opening, and phasing out paper-based bid documents. We’re also fully adopting remote online evaluation, deploying a ‘1+N’ remote collaborative bidding evaluation model that enables cross-location evaluation and online collaboration. Furthermore, we’re comprehensively strengthening compliance safeguards by having discipline inspection personnel conduct on-site supervision. Finally, we’re intensifying epidemic prevention and control measures to reduce personnel movement and ensure health and safety,” said Liu Miao. “These ‘four comprehensive’ initiatives have made our project preparation work more efficient and smoother.”
It’s once again spring recruitment season. With Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. fully resuming production, the demand for production workers is steadily increasing. Meanwhile, the company’s new pharmaceutical research institute is set to go live soon, also requiring a substantial influx of highly skilled scientific and technological talent. “In previous years, we’d recruit staff by attending various on-site events,” said Yuan Bingqiang, deputy manager of the Human Resources Department. “But this year, we’ve adopted an ‘online’ recruitment approach, conducting interviews with candidates via video conferencing. These measures have enabled us to hold ‘no-contact’ interviews with job seekers.” Every day, the very first thing Yuan does upon arriving at work is to open the online video recruitment platform and software. He jokingly remarks, “I’m starting to feel like a social media influencer—almost like a livestreaming host!” According to him, since March 2, the Shijiazhuang Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau has been hosting a month-long “Large-Scale Online Job Fair for Enterprises Resuming Production in Shijiazhuang.” The HR department of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has actively leveraged the government’s platform by setting up a dedicated recruitment zone and establishing an online interview room, where they engage in virtual exchanges and discussions with candidates.
Not only are companies actively recruiting, but universities and graduates are also beginning to adapt enthusiastically to the “Internet Plus” model. To facilitate connections between graduates and enterprises, major university platforms have set up dedicated sections to publish company recruitment information, making it easier for graduates to submit their resumes. According to reports, in order to attract more high-end talent, Shisi Pharmaceutical has already posted job listings at several top domestic pharmaceutical universities, including Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and China Pharmaceutical University. Graduates can directly submit their applications and begin preparing for online interviews.
“Cloud services are very popular at our company,” said Wang Yang, equipment manager at the Information Center of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. “In addition to online bidding and recruitment, departments such as sales, R&D, and production are also using online conferencing for daily office work.” Wang Yang added that “meeting in the cloud” will become increasingly common in the future.
