In recent days, the COVID-19 pandemic has raged fiercely. Generation after generation of the most admirable “reverse travelers” have used their ordinary bodies to build a protective barrier for the hundreds of millions of Chinese people behind them. Faced with the epidemic, the vast majority of employees at Shisi Pharmaceutical have once again stepped forward to take up the “flag” of safeguarding the health of the public.
In recent days, the COVID-19 pandemic has been raging. Generation after generation of the most admirable “reverse travelers” have used their ordinary bodies to build a protective barrier for the hundreds of millions of Chinese people behind them. Faced with the epidemic, the vast number of employees at Shisi Pharmaceutical have once again taken up the “flag” of safeguarding the health of the public.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shisi Pharmaceutical has been closely monitoring the development of the epidemic. Upon learning that medical institutions in Wuhan and other areas were urgently in need of medical supplies, Shisi Pharmaceutical promptly responded to the call, acted swiftly and proactively, and ramped up production of antiviral drugs and disinfection and protective supplies, making every effort to support the fight against the epidemic. As of now, Shisi Pharmaceutical has cumulatively donated antiviral and antibacterial medications as well as disinfection and protective supplies—such as moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection and abidol hydrochloride capsules—worth over 2.43 million yuan to frontline prevention and control efforts, including a donation of 2.284 million yuan to Hubei Province.
On January 25—the first day of the Chinese New Year—relevant medical institutions and state-owned pharmaceutical enterprises in Wuhan City requested Shiyao Group to urgently provide emergency medications such as moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection. Chairman Su Xuejun personally took charge, urging all available resources and sparing no expense to ensure the production, stockpiling, and supply of antiviral drugs during the epidemic prevention and control period. He emphasized that every effort must be made to fully support Wuhan, even at the cost of diverting some reserve supplies to prioritize donations for use by hospitals treating patients.
Employees from departments including production, marketing, R&D, finance, and warehousing and logistics volunteered enthusiastically, giving up their Spring Festival holidays and working closely together to ensure the smooth dispatch of urgently needed medicines. On the afternoon of January 27—the third day of the first lunar month—three large container trucks loaded with emergency medicines—including 130,000 bags (bottles) of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection—and donated medications worth 2 million yuan sped toward Wuhan.
“We sincerely thank your company for your support and encouragement, as well as for the social responsibility demonstrated by caring enterprises like yours—spreading positive energy to society and bolstering the confidence and determination of medical personnel fighting on the front lines to win the battle against the epidemic.” On February 7, Shisi Pharmaceutical received a “special” letter of thanks from the People’s Hospital of Longkou City, Shandong Province. The letter expressed gratitude for Shisi Pharmaceutical’s donation of hand-sanitizing gel during this extraordinary time, which has effectively safeguarded the health and safety of medical staff and the general public.
The shortage of medical supplies and the sharp increase in the number of patients in epidemic areas have placed doctors and nurses directly at risk from the coronavirus. Responding urgently to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, Shisi Pharmaceutical has swiftly reorganized production and donated urgently needed supplies such as disinfectant solutions. Working hand-in-hand with medical personnel across the board, we are fighting side by side, doing our utmost to provide a “protective barrier” for healthcare workers and the general public. “We hope to demonstrate the responsibility of pharmaceutical companies through concrete actions and join forces to win this critical battle against the epidemic,” said Su Xuejun in a firm and resolute tone, voicing the shared sentiment of all Shisi Pharmaceutical employees.
On February 14, the temperature plummeted, yet the frigid weather couldn't dampen the fervent spirits of those involved. A truck loaded with 150,000 yuan worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection set off for the Shennongjia Forest District.
The evening before yesterday, Shisi Pharmaceutical received a letter from the Hebei Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, forwarded by the Hebei Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, requesting support in the form of COVID-19 prevention and control supplies for the Shennongjia Forestry District in Hubei Province. Su Xuejun immediately coordinated with both the provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Shennongjia Forestry District Federation of Industry and Commerce. After learning that the designated hospital in the forestry district was facing a shortage of emergency medications, he personally arranged for the transfer of 150,000 yuan worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection from the reserve stock to be donated to the Shennongjia Forestry District. At the same time, he also coordinated with the Provincial Zhongji Poverty Alleviation Foundation—affiliated with the provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce—to donate 2,000 boxes of abidol capsules to the forestry district.
Logistics have been disrupted. To ensure that emergency medications are delivered to the forest area in a timely manner and to buy precious time for patient treatment, Shisi Pharmaceutical has urgently coordinated with specialized express delivery services, racing against time to guarantee rapid medication delivery.
Epidemics are merciless, but humanity is full of love. With a strong sense of responsibility, the people of Shisi Pharmaceutical are giving back to society and demonstrating great compassion. Su Xuejun stated that ensuring the supply of medicines on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control is the responsibility of pharmaceutical companies. Shisi Pharmaceutical will continue to precisely align with clinical needs, further strengthen the provision and donation of emergency medicines, and remain closely connected with hundreds of millions of Chinese people, standing firmly shoulder to shoulder with them, using our sense of responsibility and commitment to vow together with the entire nation to win this battle against the epidemic.
