This spring has become especially unforgettable, thanks to the outbreak of the “epidemic battle.” We pay tribute to those who stepped forward against the tide during this crisis—those selfless and fearless angels in white—and to every worker who has dedicated themselves to the front lines of labor.
Today, reporters from Hebei TV went to the grassroots level to take a closer look at Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and see how they are going all out, fulfilling their duties conscientiously, and ensuring supply on the front lines of this battle.
▲ Since Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical resumed production, Han Huijuan, the packaging team leader of Workshop 102, has remained steadfast at her post, working overtime even while six months pregnant. The photo shows Han Huijuan inspecting the operation of the equipment used to manufacture abidol hydrochloride capsules.
Checking the variation in capsule fill weights, operating the control panel, and verifying process parameters—Han Huijuan has long been thoroughly familiar with every step of the production process. As a regular packaging team leader in Workshop 102 at Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Han Huijuan is currently six months pregnant. Since resuming production on Chinese New Year’s Eve according to the lunar calendar, she has been working overtime alongside her colleagues every single day. “My family is worried, but both my husband and I are employed, so they’re quite understanding. I’ve been working here for over a decade, and the workshop now faces heavy workloads and a shortage of staff. To ensure we can smoothly complete our production tasks, I’ve fully devoted myself to my job,” said Han Huijuan.
Since resuming production, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical has stepped up efforts to manufacture compound quaternary ammonium salt disinfectants—products urgently needed by the market—to meet supply demands.
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, demand for preventive medications and sanitary disinfectants has surged. Responding promptly to urgent production needs, Mi Junqing, the director of Workshop 103, volunteered to modify the equipment used for producing disinfectants, thereby meeting the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. “From filling and bottling to capping, labeling, secondary packaging, and finally producing the finished product—every step has been transformed from manual operations to a streamlined assembly line. Previously, our output per shift was around 10,000 bottles; now we’ve reached 40,000 bottles per shift,” said Mi Junqing.
Currently, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has fully launched its production lines for disinfectants as well as antiviral and antibacterial drugs. A total of 2,300 employees are working tirelessly on the front lines of manufacturing these epidemic prevention and control products.
Taking preventive and control drugs as an example, currently, an average of 180,000 bags of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection and 900,000 capsules of abidol hydrochloride are produced each day.
Since resuming production, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical has stepped up manufacturing of the emergency drug moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection, which is crucial for frontline epidemic prevention and control.
It’s not just about production—facing the urgent demand for medications on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control, how to deliver the manufactured drugs to areas in dire need, such as Hubei, in the shortest possible time has become a daily challenge for Li Ligong, the manager of the storage and transportation department. Especially when it comes to inter-provincial shipments, ensuring that the drivers are properly motivated is of paramount importance. “At first, everyone was gripped by severe panic over this epidemic, making it quite difficult to do our jobs effectively. So we took a step-by-step approach, starting with Party members and veterans. Once we had some pioneers stepping up and going against the flow, subsequent shipments became relatively smoother.” We’ve provided transportation drivers with protective gear such as masks and disinfectant, and actively coordinated outdoor picnic equipment—including portable stoves and gas cylinders—to offer them the best possible logistical support.
After more than 20 days of steadfast dedication, the Storage and Transportation Department has shipped over 800,000 boxes of pharmaceuticals to Wuhan, Enshi in Hubei Province, as well as neighboring provinces and cities, successfully completing the first-phase mission of providing emergency pharmaceutical transportation support to the frontline of the enterprise’s relief efforts.
Meanwhile, they actively shoulder social responsibilities. On January 25, they donated 2 million yuan worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection to the designated hospitals in Wuhan City that are treating COVID-19 patients. On February 13, they donated emergency medical supplies worth 150,000 yuan to the Shennongjia Forestry District in Hubei Province, which is providing counterpart support.

Going forward, Shijiazhuang Four Pharmaceutical will continue to ensure production and fortify the frontline of pharmaceutical security. “While safeguarding the health of our employees, we’ve organized personnel to carry out production—especially of Abidor capsules, an antiviral drug—to meet the needs of epidemic-affected areas. So far, we’ve already distributed over 1.1 million capsules, ensuring a steady supply of medication to these regions. More products will continue to be delivered to the epidemic zones in the days ahead,” said Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Four Pharmaceutical.
