Shi Si Pharmaceutical is a leading domestic manufacturer of intravenous solutions. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shi Si Pharmaceutical has ensured an uninterrupted supply of emergency injectable medications—including abidol hydrochloride capsules, moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection, and sterile water for injection—by implementing scientific scheduling to maintain 24-hour continuous production. According to Manager Zhang Sumei from Shi Si Pharmaceutical’s Human Resources Department, with support from the government and relevant social agencies, the employee attendance rate has been steadily increasing day by day. The oral dosage formulation workshop and all plastic-bottle IV solution production lines have now been fully operational. By optimizing production arrangements and adopting a two-shift system, the company’s production capacity is gradually recovering.
“Although the epidemic prevention and control measures have posed considerable challenges to business personnel traveling to markets to carry out their work, and hospital visits and admissions have significantly declined across various regions, putting temporary pressure on our business operations, the difficulties will eventually pass. Our business objectives remain unchanged—we’re still determined to achieve growth and secure a strong start to the first quarter,” said Wu Hengyao, General Manager of Shisi Pharmaceutical.

“As long as the epidemic doesn’t subside, we can’t afford to let up on our prevention and control efforts for a single day.” The company is simultaneously advancing both epidemic prevention and production, rigorously conducting personnel screening and disinfection, and providing employees with training on epidemic prevention and control knowledge, ensuring that the enterprise becomes a “safe haven” in the fight against the epidemic.
“The most pressing task for businesses right now is to ensure the production of medicines needed on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control. At the same time, we will also deepen our services to invigorate and activate the market, thereby accelerating the sales of our products,” said Wu Hengyao. Currently, hospitals in Wuhan designated for treating COVID-19 patients are using Shisi Pharmaceutical’s moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection, sterile water for injection, basic infusion solutions in closed soft bags, and abidol hydrochloride capsules—antiviral drugs—in their medical treatments. In particular, before Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital were put into operation, we promptly delivered 6,000 boxes of abidol hydrochloride capsules as emergency supplies. Recently, through participation in centralized procurement of emergency medicines, the eight makeshift hospitals already operational in Wuhan have urgently received an additional 32,000 bottles of levofloxacin lactate sodium chloride injection from Shisi Pharmaceutical, which will be used for clinical treatment.

It is reported that from January 25 to February 13, Shiyao Group has cumulatively shipped 1.5 million capsules of the antiviral drug abidol hydrochloride to Hubei Province, including 1.1 million capsules destined for Wuhan. Additionally, 268,000 bags of the antibacterial drug moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection were sent to Hubei, with 230,000 bags going to Wuhan. Furthermore, 560,000 bags (bottles) of sterile water and basic infusion solutions were also delivered, providing strong support for ensuring the supply of medicines on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control.
