Xing Guohui chaired a symposium with representatives from several enterprises, emphasizing the need to earnestly fulfill social responsibilities and promote enterprises’ efforts to improve and strengthen themselves.

On the morning of February 4, Xing Guohui, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee, chaired a symposium with representatives from several enterprises. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping as well as the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. In accordance with the requirements of the provincial party committee and provincial government on doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control, we must fully leverage the role of enterprises and entrepreneurs across the city, earnestly fulfill our social responsibilities, accelerate structural adjustments and promote transformation, and help enterprises become better and stronger, thereby making new and greater contributions to the city’s epidemic prevention efforts and its economic and social development. Deng Peiran, Deputy Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended the meeting.

At the symposium, Wu Xiangjun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, reported on our city’s private enterprises’ efforts to fight the epidemic. Nine entrepreneur representatives, including Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical, actively spoke up and offered valuable suggestions and advice on epidemic prevention and control work.

Xing Guohui, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, expressed heartfelt gratitude and paid high tribute to entrepreneurs and employees across the city. He pointed out that since the outbreak of the epidemic, entrepreneurs throughout our city have thoroughly studied and implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping as well as the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, fully carried out the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, proactively thrown themselves into the frontline of epidemic prevention and control, and provided strong support for the city’s epidemic response efforts as well as for Wuhan, Hubei Province. They have made gratuitous donations—in terms of funds, medicines, protective equipment, and facilities—thus making positive contributions to winning the battle against the epidemic.

Xing Guohui put forward four hopes to business leaders. First, we must elevate our political awareness and firmly fulfill our corporate social responsibilities. We need to strictly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, the provincial party committee, the provincial government, as well as the specific requirements of the municipal party committee and municipal government. With a strong sense of responsibility and mission, we should wholeheartedly engage in epidemic prevention and control efforts and pool powerful joint forces to combat the outbreak. Second, we must enhance our protective awareness and effectively prevent employee infections. We need to fully implement joint prevention and control measures and mass-based prevention and treatment strategies. We must conduct comprehensive and systematic surveys and registrations of employees’ health conditions and travel histories during holidays. We must rigorously enforce requirements such as temperature checks and mask-wearing upon entering the factory. We should focus on strengthening cleaning and disinfection, improving sanitation, ensuring proper ventilation in workshops, and arranging staggered meal times for employees—thus reducing gatherings and effectively guiding enterprise employees to strengthen self-protection and ensure enterprise safety. Third, we must boost enterprise production capacity and operate at full capacity to expand output. We need to increase reserves of raw materials, rationally allocate resources, accelerate the production of urgently needed medical supplies, and actively contribute to the city’s epidemic prevention and control efforts. Enterprises providing production and service support—such as those supplying water, electricity, gas, heating, rice, flour, grains, oils, and vegetables—must promptly resume operations and restore production to ensure stable and orderly market supply throughout the city. Fourth, we must enhance our innovation capabilities and speed up structural adjustments and transformation. We must remain steadfast in pursuing our annual economic development goals, focus on doing a good job in the “six stabilizations,” and keep an eye on developing the “four types of economy,” preparing ourselves to tackle various complex and challenging situations. We must comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise development, continuously increase investment in scientific research and innovation, and strengthen enterprises’ core competitiveness.

Xing Guohui emphasized that Party committees and governments at all levels should enhance their service delivery capabilities and proactively address the difficulties faced by enterprises. Ensuring the smooth production of key enterprises must be treated as a major task; we should take the initiative to help enterprises overcome their challenges and accelerate their development. Departments responsible for administrative approvals and market regulation should fully leverage their functional roles, streamline approval procedures, strengthen business guidance, and effectively uphold market order, thereby providing robust support for enterprise development. Publicity departments at all levels should vigorously promote the exemplary models and touching stories of our city’s enterprises that have emerged during the fight against the epidemic, fostering a positive atmosphere of respect, care, and support for enterprise development.
