The spring breeze brings good news: on March 17, the theobromine submitted by Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration and registered as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed formulations. This is the group’s third API variety approved this year—following tinidazole and doxofylline—and also its 11th new product overall.
It is reported that theobromine is primarily used for diuresis, cardiac stimulation, vasodilation, and smooth muscle relaxation.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has closely monitored market demands and, in line with the “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” approach, has focused its research on the independent R&D of specialty and high-end active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), as well as on key technological innovations in API synthesis. The group has continuously accelerated the development efficiency of new APIs, vigorously enhanced product quality standards, reduced consumption of materials, energy, and environmental resources, and promoted the development of its products toward greater serialization, diversification, and scale. As a result, the contribution of APIs to the company’s development has steadily increased, effectively driving improvements in both the quality and efficiency of its finished dosage form business.
