Embarking on a new journey and setting sail once again—on the morning of February 4, the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group held a conference in its auditorium, themed “Focusing on New Goals, Energizing New Tracks, and Steadfastly Pursuing a New Journey.” The conference brought together group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, Song Mingxia, and numerous R&D personnel to review the innovative achievements of 2022, outline an ambitious blueprint for achieving new breakthroughs in the group’s high-quality innovation-driven development, and reaffirm their commitment to pressing forward with renewed vigor. The conference was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.
Stepping boldly into a new journey and setting sail once again—on the morning of February 4, the R&D Center of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group held a conference in its auditorium, themed “Focusing on New Goals, Energizing New Tracks, and Striving Forward on a New Journey.” The conference brought together group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, Song Mingxia, and numerous R&D personnel to review the innovative achievements of 2022, outline an ambitious blueprint for achieving new breakthroughs in the group’s high-quality innovation-driven development, and reaffirm their commitment to forging ahead with renewed vigor. The conference was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.
At the meeting, heads of the Solid Dosage Formulation Research Institute, Liquid Dosage Formulation Research Institute, Innovative Drug Research Institute, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Research Institute, Medical Center, Analytical Center, Technology Transfer Center, and relevant functional departments reported on their work progress in 2022 as well as on key priorities for the coming period. Group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, Sun Lijie, and other senior executives commented on key research projects and put forward specific requirements.
The conference announced the list of advanced departments and outstanding contributors, as well as exemplary employees from the R&D center. The honored individuals and representatives of advanced teams stepped onto the stage with high spirits and received cash awards, certificates, or trophies from the group leaders Qu Jiguang, Su Xuejun, and Song Mingxia. The entire audience erupted into enthusiastic applause to offer their congratulations.
Sun Lijie, Group CEO and General Manager of the R&D Center, comprehensively summarized the achievements made by the Group in R&D innovation in 2022, objectively analyzed the new challenges and opportunities encountered, and put forward specific measures and requirements for further enhancing the quality and accelerating the pace of research projects, strengthening talent development and recruitment, and refining the performance evaluation mechanism.
The old year has already unfurled a thousand layers of brocade, and the new year will see us climb another hundred feet higher. Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, expressed full recognition of the task and goal-setting efforts made by all departments of the R&D Center, and extended his warm congratulations to the outstanding teams and individuals who have been honored. He pointed out that in the just-concluded year of 2022, the Group’s vast army of R&D personnel, guided by innovation-driven development, actively implemented the Group’s “API + Formulation” development strategy, working day and night with dedication and responsibility, and achieved remarkable R&D results. The number of newly approved and submitted products remained at the leading level nationwide in the same industry, effectively promoting the optimization and upgrading of the company’s product structure, significantly enhancing the company’s image and market position within the industry, and making outstanding contributions to the Group’s innovative, high-quality development. The historic shift in the Group’s innovation-driven development—from asking “whether we have it” to focusing on “how fast” and “how good” it is—fully demonstrates that Siyao now boasts an innovative team that dares to fight, dares to strive, and dares to win, capable of shouldering the heavy responsibility of driving the company’s leapfrog development. This gives the company greater confidence and assurance as it faces future challenges.
Qu Jiguang emphasized that the Group has reached a critical juncture in its transformation and upgrading, placing it at a new historical stage and turning point. New opportunities and challenges have entrusted R&D personnel with an even more arduous yet glorious mission and set of tasks. He called for continued maintenance of our leading edge in domestic generic drug applications and approvals, and for driving a shift in researchers’ innovation capabilities—from imitation-based manufacturing to exploration and discovery. We must continually elevate the level and capability of scientific research and innovation, promote deep integration among the innovation chain, industrial chain, and value chain, and achieve the goal of building a technologically strong enterprise at a higher level. We need to keep deepening the collaborative mechanism for tackling key core technologies and products, further enhancing the effectiveness of R&D and technology transfer through deepening mechanisms such as “listing challenges and appointing leaders” and “racehorse-style” R&D initiatives, thereby empowering the company’s greater development. We must adopt unconventional approaches to cultivating, attracting, and utilizing talent, breaking through the “glass ceiling” that hinders the growth of scientific research professionals and creating broader platforms for them to showcase their talents. We should also deepen the evaluation mechanisms for research projects and talent, thoroughly study and implement the “Three Zeros, Five Supports, Seven Focuses” management approach, further refine incentive measures and performance appraisal systems for research projects, and continuously strengthen the enterprise’s sustained creativity and endogenous driving force.
Though the road may be long, persistence will bring you closer to your destination; though the task may be daunting, determination will ensure its success. Qu Jiguang warmly encouraged all R&D personnel within the group to cultivate a spirit of ambition and drive, to embrace their youth with a fighting spirit, and to live up to the times and their prime years.
