During the Xiaohan solar term, Xingtang, located in the northern part of the provincial capital, is gripped by bitterly cold winds and an overwhelming sense of chill. On the morning of January 9, Su Xuejun, Vice President of the Provincial General Chamber of Commerce and General Manager of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., together with Party Secretary Shi Jianhui, led all employees—filled with heartfelt care—to Goubei Village, Zhaiying Township, Xingtang County, a designated poverty-alleviation support site, where they carried out a support initiative that was warmly welcomed by villagers and the village-stationed work team from the Shijiazhuang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

Goubei Village is located in the western part of Xingtang County. The land here is relatively barren. The village has 659 households and a population of over 2,200 people. The village’s collective income mainly comes from agriculture and animal husbandry. In recent years, with the assistance of the resident work team and relevant enterprises, Goubei Village has made full use of policy support funds and enterprise assistance funds. While improving the village’s appearance, the village has actively developed high-standard greenhouse facilities for cultivating melons and high-quality vegetables, significantly boosting its collective economic income.
At the start of the new year, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. learned through its “hotline” with the village-stationed work team that the village was preparing to upgrade its greenhouse facilities and purchase fertilizers and other agricultural inputs in order to seize the opportunity to bring spring agricultural products to market. However, due to a partial funding gap, the project had temporarily hit a snag. “Agricultural time waits for no one; helping the village lift itself out of poverty is our duty,” said Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical immediately, pledging financial assistance to relieve the village’s urgent needs. Early on January 9, Su Xuejun and his team set off by car for Goubei Village, delivering the 30,000-yuan relief fund directly into the hands of the village secretary.
Su Xuejun and Shi Jianhui held a symposium with the village’s dual leadership team and the resident work team, gaining a detailed understanding of the challenges faced in developing the village’s collective economy. They also visited the village health clinic to carefully learn about villagers’ medical treatment and medication needs. Su Xuejun stated that Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Company is willing to provide convenience and assistance to graduates from colleges and universities in Goubei Village regarding employment opportunities and to ensure safe medication use among villagers.
Since last year, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, as one of the top 100 private enterprises in the province, has proactively assumed and fulfilled its social responsibilities, walking hand-in-hand with love and pursuing targeted poverty alleviation. It has donated more than 100,000 yuan in cash and materials, providing support for poverty alleviation efforts in rural areas such as Dong Baimaying Village in Yangyuan County, Zhangjiakou.
