The organizer, Zhongkang Technology, released the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Index and the Comprehensive Competitiveness Index for the pharmaceutical industry for the period 2020-2021. The China Health Industry Ecology Conference (CHEO), also known as the "CPhI China," is a high-end, forward-looking industry event that promotes ecological integration in China's pharmaceutical innovation sector, fosters high-quality innovation to meet clinical needs, and enhances drug accessibility. It draws significant attention from experts, scholars, mainstream domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, retail enterprises, healthcare and health-related capital firms, and service providers. The theme of the 2021 CPIE Conference was “The Efficiency Revolution—Accelerating New Drug Development and Improving Drug Accessibility.”
The Pharmaceutical Industry Comprehensive Competitiveness Index is a multi-dimensional, multi-indicator, all-round assessment of pharmaceutical companies in China conducted by Zhongkang Technology based on its “Six-Force Model,” which encompasses enterprises’ “commercialization capability, R&D strength, product competitiveness, brand power, production capacity, and profitability.” The Pharmaceutical Industry Comprehensive Competitiveness Index reflects the overall competitive strength of pharmaceutical companies.
It is reported that among the top 100 enterprises in the comprehensive competitiveness index of the pharmaceutical industry, 70 are primarily engaged in chemical drugs, 23 focus on traditional Chinese medicines, and 7 specialize in biopharmaceuticals. Looking at the competitiveness indices of these 100 enterprises, those specializing in chemical drugs and biopharmaceuticals—especially those with strong R&D capabilities—rank highly, in addition to their commercialization strengths.
