In the afternoon of August 21, the grand summary meeting on R&D and innovation work of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group was held. Attending the meeting were Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group; Su Xuejun, Chairman of the Group; Sun Lijie, Executive President of the Group and General Manager of the R&D Center, among other leaders. The meeting was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.

With a favorable wind at our backs, we’re poised to gather our strength and set off anew. In the provincial capital during early autumn, the sky is high and the clouds are light and serene. On the afternoon of August 21, the lecture hall of the Pharmaceutical Research Institute of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Group was brilliantly lit and buzzing with excitement. Nearly 400 R&D and scientific-technological personnel from the Group gathered together to review their R&D and innovation efforts from January to August, analyze and assess the trends in the industry, and discuss how to seize the rare development opportunities presented by the restructuring of the pharmaceutical industry and Shijiazhuang’s strong support for the biopharmaceutical sector to achieve breakthroughs ahead of others. They also planned and laid out priorities for the remaining four months and future R&D work, further propelling the Group’s high-quality development in the new era to a new level and enabling it to reach new heights.

Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shiyao Group; Su Xuejun, Chairman of the Group; Sun Lijie, Executive President of the Group and General Manager of the R&D Center, and other leaders attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the Group’s R&D Center.

At the meeting, heads of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Research Institute, Liquid Dosage Form Research Institute, Solid Dosage Form Research Institute, Innovative Drug Research Institute, Medical Center, Registration Affairs Department, Information Project Approval Department, and Human Resources Department reported on their work progress from January to August, as well as on key tasks for the remaining four months and beyond. Group leaders Qu Jiguang, Sun Lijie, and others provided comments on the progress of key research projects and offered suggestions for improvement.

Sun Lijie, Group CEO and General Manager of the R&D Center, and Wang Lijiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center, delivered summary speeches respectively on the key R&D tasks. Sun Lijie comprehensively summarized the new achievements made by the Group in R&D innovation over the first eight months of this year, objectively analyzed the challenges and opportunities encountered, and put forward improvement measures and requirements aimed at further strengthening talent development, enhancing the sense of responsibility among managers and R&D personnel, accelerating and improving the quality of scientific research projects, and refining the assessment, reward, and elimination mechanisms.

In his concluding remarks, Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, pointed out that, through painstaking efforts, the Group has steadily adapted to the changing demands of the new era, new circumstances, and new tasks, gradually establishing an innovative development model in which generic drugs, innovative drugs, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and pharmaceutical packaging materials work synergistically. This has helped propel the Group’s scientific research and innovation onto a “highway” characterized by scientific rigor, institutionalization, and standardization. Currently, the company has more than 200 products under development, with over 60 candidates awaiting approval from the National Drug Administration. On average, the company secures approvals for more than two new products each month. These impressive “figures” have drawn widespread admiration within the industry, and new products are continuously injecting fresh momentum into the Group’s sustainable development. He expressed heartfelt respect and sincere gratitude to all research and development personnel for their hard work and positive contributions to driving the company’s high-quality, innovative development!

In recent years, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has attached great importance to R&D innovation and has actively improved the research and living conditions of its R&D personnel. By raising salary levels, providing subsidized housing, and offering free transportation, the company continues to inspire its scientific and technological staff to enthusiastically and confidently dedicate themselves to the company’s innovative development. He warmly encourages young R&D personnel: Opportunities favor those with prepared minds, but they especially reward those who are diligent and hardworking. You must bravely shoulder the heavy responsibilities entrusted to you by the times, writing your research papers at the forefront of scientific innovation, at the forefront of production and transformation, and at the forefront of market services, thus making even greater contributions as the company leaps forward in its development.

Regarding further enhancing R&D and innovation efforts, Chairman Qu Jiguang called for the following: First, we must strengthen the guiding role of the innovation-driven strategy to help R&D and innovation reach new heights. We should align our innovation strategies with the Group’s industrial development and product positioning, paying close attention to their guiding function. We need to focus on top-level design and effective implementation of product R&D plans, adhering to the principles of proactive follow-up, careful selection, and knowing what to pursue and what to let go of—thus clearly defining the key areas and breakthroughs for scientific research and innovation. Second, we must advance R&D and innovation in a solid and practical manner, guided by professionalism and an artisan spirit. Researchers must maintain a sense of reverence and consciously benchmark themselves against industry leaders, demonstrating greater achievements in the company’s development. Third, we must continuously strengthen talent development. We should emphasize the recruitment of various types of suitable talents, adhering to a practice-oriented approach and recruiting based on actual needs. By integrating corporate culture, we can enhance self-cultivation among talents and adopt unconventional methods for selecting and employing personnel. Fourth, we must rigorously implement assessment and incentive measures, ensuring that work is properly executed, progress is on track, and rewards and punishments are appropriately applied. Only through high-quality R&D and innovation can we drive high-quality enterprise development. We must earnestly fulfill our responsibilities, stay firmly focused on our goals, adopt “visualized management,” break down targets and tasks into specific time milestones, and ensure that all project tasks are implemented precisely and without compromise.

The summary conference greatly inspired and encouraged the R&D personnel. Everyone expressed their determination to unite as one, pool their strengths, and carry forward the fine traditions of relentless dedication, keeping pace with the times, and working tirelessly. They pledged to be pragmatic and take concrete actions, courageously embracing the glorious mission of innovative development. With the fighting spirit of “If others do one part, I’ll do ten; if others do ten parts, I’ll do a hundred,” they resolved to keep up the good work, strive even harder, and deliver a satisfactory performance for the Group, thus making new contributions to promoting the Group’s high-quality development and helping Shijiazhuang’s biopharmaceutical industry take the lead in achieving breakthroughs.
