At 5:30 p.m. on March 15, Liu Jie, Deputy Manager of the Safety Department at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, sent the live-stream link for the “First Lesson After Work Starts” to the company’s WeChat work group, promptly ringing the “class bell” for employees. Employees eagerly took advantage of their break time after work to tune in and attend this cloud-based class.
The “First Lesson on Work Start” lecture series is organized by the Hebei Provincial Safety Committee Office and the Provincial Department of Emergency Management. The lectures cover topics including general courses, the hazardous chemical industry, the non-coal mining industry, the industrial and commercial trade industry, and the coal industry. They are delivered via pre-recorded videos and simultaneously broadcast on media platforms such as the “Hebei Provincial Department of Emergency Management” WeChat official account and the Hebei Daily app.
This online class featured highly targeted content. The main lecture was delivered by Dong Chengwen, Director of the Institute for Safety Culture at the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, who covered three key aspects: “Striving to Enhance Safety Awareness and Taking the First Step Toward Safe Production,” “Firmly Establishing the Concept of Safe Development and Keeping the Course Steady in Safe Production,” and “Vigorously Cultivating a Safety Culture and Building Soft Power for Safe Production.”
“This core course is highly targeted and easy to understand, enabling grassroots employees to genuinely resonate with it on an emotional level, enhancing their awareness of safe production, and proving inspiring for both the company and its employees,” said Wei Wenliang, CEO of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group, after watching the “First Lesson of the Year” keynote session. He then engaged in a discussion with his colleagues from the safety department about the company’s safety culture development. “We must, in accordance with our three-year action plan and annual policy objectives, vigorously focus on building a strong safety culture within work teams, continue to intensify safety training across all fronts, and promptly launch ‘Employees Talk Safety’ initiatives—allowing employees themselves to prepare course materials, gather relevant information, and share real-life case studies. This approach not only boosts audience engagement but also heightens the sense of responsibility and preparedness among the instructors.”
To ensure optimal viewing results, the Office of the Hebei Provincial Safety Committee has mandated that all personnel at every production and business entity across the province must watch the main “First Lesson of Work Start.” In addition, all employees of enterprises in industries such as hazardous chemicals, coal mining, non-coal mines, and commercial and industrial sectors are required to watch their respective industry-specific “First Lesson of Work Start” after completing the main lesson. All localities and departments across the province have actively organized efforts, issued notices well in advance, and urged relevant units to tune in to the lecture on time.
