According to the “Measures for Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment” (Ministry Order No. 4, July 16, 2018), after the draft environmental impact report for a construction project has been prepared, opinions relevant to the project’s environmental impacts must be solicited.
I. Basic Information on the Project
The Azithromycin Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project of Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Xingye Street and Three Gorges Road in the Shijiazhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project involves an investment of 40 million yuan. Situated within an already completed active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) workshop, the project leverages existing facilities and utilities while acquiring new equipment. By utilizing the space reserved in the current facility, the existing azithromycin production line will be expanded and renovated. In the first phase, storage facilities will be constructed, including a newly built tank farm (not open-air), with a floor area of approximately 500 square meters. Upon completion, these facilities will meet the production needs of both the existing 100 tons/year capacity and the additional 300 tons/year capacity for azithromycin. In the second phase, a new production line for the precursor erythromycin imine ether A will be added. After the project is completed, the total azithromycin production capacity will increase from 100 tons/year to 400 tons/year.
