At a critical moment in epidemic prevention and control, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. donated 4,800 boxes of Abidol Hydrochloride Capsules (Ainuoda), worth 330,000 yuan, and 2,400 bottles of a new-concept quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant to the Hebei Provincial Red Cross Society. At 3 p.m. on January 18, the supplies departed for 10 large and medium-sized hospitals within the province, providing support to frontline抗疫 efforts.

“This outbreak occurred right on our doorstep, so as a local enterprise, we feel even more strongly that we have a responsibility to do our part in the fight against the epidemic,” said Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. In recent days, while making every effort to ensure the clinical supply of anti-epidemic drugs to over 4,000 large and medium-sized hospitals across the country—especially in our province and Shijiazhuang—our company has been particularly concerned about the safety and well-being of medical workers on the front lines and patients battling the virus. This batch of supplies will be distributed as soon as possible to ten major and medium-sized hospitals, including the Provincial Chest Hospital, the Second Provincial Hospital, the Third Hospital of Shijiazhuang, the Fifth Hospital of Shijiazhuang, the First Hospital of Xinji City, the Third Hospital of Hengshui City, the People’s Hospital of Dingzhou City, the Third Hospital of Chengde City, and the Infectious Disease Hospital of Cangzhou City, to safeguard the health and lives of medical personnel and ensure effective treatment for patients.
At the scene of the discovery, Sun Lijie, CEO of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical and General Manager of the R&D Center, introduced that Abidol Hydrochloride Capsules (Ainuoda) is a broad-spectrum antiviral drug that can prevent the fusion of the virus with the host cell membrane, thereby blocking viral replication within the body. It exerts a dual mechanism of action by inducing interferon production and modulating the body’s immune functions. Primarily used to treat upper respiratory tract infections caused by influenza viruses of types A and B, this drug was developed by the former Soviet Union’s Research Center for Pharmaceutical Chemistry and was first launched in Russia in 1993. Since last year’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been widely applied in clinical settings across multiple provinces including Hubei, Zhejiang, and Xinjiang, playing a positive role in reducing infection rates and alleviating patient symptoms, and thus receiving high attention from industry experts. Abidol has been included by the National Health Commission in the “Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Pneumonia Caused by Novel Coronavirus Infection (Trial Versions 6, 7, and 8)” as an antiviral therapeutic agent.
Viruses are merciless, but humanity is full of love. Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical, keeping in mind the nation’s greater interests, has proactively stepped up and taken responsibility. Shortly after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, it became one of the first pharmaceutical companies in the province to send aid to Wuhan and Hubei. It has successively provided antiviral and antibacterial emergency medications—including abidol hydrochloride capsules and moxifloxacin hydrochloride injection—to designated hospitals in Wuhan, makeshift hospitals, and the Shennongjia Forestry District, and donated funds and supplies worth over 3 million yuan. Additionally, it supplied 410,000 bottles (or containers) of disinfectant to Beijing and Tianjin. As a result, it received letters of commendation and official recognition from relevant national authorities.
