On March 25, at the finished-goods warehouse entrance of the logistics center of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., located in the Shijiazhuang High-tech Zone, forklifts were shuttling back and forth, hurriedly loading more than ten large transport trucks parked in a single file. Li Ligong, manager of the Storage and Transportation Department at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, who was on-site directing operations, said: “These days, our shipment volume has been rising steadily—just like the temperature these days—growing higher with each passing day. The daily outbound volume of infusion products has reached over 4 million bottles, almost returning to pre-pandemic levels.”

As a key domestic base for the production, R&D, and export of injectable drugs, since the outbreak of the pandemic, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical has not only been fully committed to ensuring the supply of critical reserve medications for epidemic prevention and control, but has also overcome numerous adverse factors, including a sluggish end-market. Relying neither on external assistance nor waiting passively, more than 400 sales representatives have “taken their posts right where they are,” leveraging “cloud services” to precisely connect with both domestic and international markets and guarantee uninterrupted 24-hour sales support.
“We’ve focused on key marketing priorities and ensured that our flagship products remain firmly in place. During the pandemic, we never let up on promoting and selling our star product—infusion preparations—and went to great lengths to serve and invigorate the market, boosting sales. As people’s understanding of the novel coronavirus has deepened, end-users have become particularly attentive to preventing secondary contamination during drug administration. Soft-bag infusions and upright soft-bag infusions offer excellent air isolation properties, so we’ve stepped up our efforts to promote and sell these products, which have been warmly received by the market. Currently, our production lines for leading products—soft-bag and upright soft-bag infusions—are all operating at full capacity, with production and sales reaching pre-pandemic levels,” said Wu Hengyao, General Manager of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical. “This year, our sales growth target for injectables remains unchanged, and we’re even striving for faster growth.”
“By leveraging market trends and guiding our strategies accordingly, ‘seasonal’ products are taking center stage. We use big data collection terminals to monitor changes in the market, seizing the opportunity presented by the growing demand for antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and chronic-disease treatment drugs. We’ve mobilized our elite teams to ramp up production, carefully planned the sales of products that best meet market needs, and enhanced the precision of our supply chain, ensuring that resource allocation achieves maximum efficiency. Since February, sales of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection have surged by 404% year-on-year, while azithromycin dispersible tablets have risen by 40%. Sales of traditional Chinese medicine preparations such as heat-clearing and detoxifying oral liquid, Shengmai Drink, Yiqing Granules, and Yinhuang Capsules have also experienced rapid growth,” said Wu Hengyao. As outpatient and inpatient volumes at hospitals gradually recover, hospital drug consumption will continue to rise, prompting pharmaceutical companies to fully increase production. Market demand is steadily becoming more diversified—shifting from a focus on antiviral and antibacterial drugs as well as medications for chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes toward a broader range of ‘general practice’ pharmaceuticals.
Dedicate ourselves to diligent cultivation in the spring sunshine and seize every moment to boost foreign trade. At present, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical is maintaining steady export sales without slowing down at all, while simultaneously ensuring both the production and supply of emergency and routine pharmaceuticals needed for epidemic response.

Stepping into Workshop 203 of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, we find the motors humming cheerfully as infusion products race along the production line, ready to head off to “distant lands.” Li Bo, manager of the Foreign Trade Department at Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, explained: “These products will soon be exported via sea freight to Southeast Asian countries.”
At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading globally, fulfilling contractual obligations on time and stabilizing foreign trade demonstrate the sense of responsibility of a company that acts with integrity. Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has actively responded to the impact of the pandemic by pursuing a “dual-track” approach—maintaining unwavering focus on foreign trade. Through “online-to-online” and “screen-to-screen” communication methods, the company has ensured that orders are fulfilled without delay, new orders keep coming in, and services remain uninterrupted. As a result, it has earned the trust of international customers and boosted confidence in cooperation between both sides. From January to February this year, both foreign trade sales volume and export value continued to post double-digit growth.
“China’s foreign trade demonstrates strong resilience, and the long-term trend of healthy development remains unchanged. Our overseas customers have high expectations for us,” said Li Bo. “Going forward, while continuing to excel in our conventional export products, we will place greater emphasis on promoting new products in international markets. Currently, we are working closely with our overseas customers to carry out preliminary market-access procedures tailored to their specific needs.”
