Stepping into the No. 102 oral dosage workshop of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, we find it renowned for producing the antiviral drug abidol hydrochloride capsules. Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical is one of only five pharmaceutical companies in China licensed to manufacture abidol preparations, and this product has played a vital role on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control. Since January 24—the eve of the Lunar New Year—employees at the workshop have been working tirelessly to produce urgently needed abidol hydrochloride capsules as well as traditional Chinese medicines such as Yiqing Granules, Qingre Jiedu Oral Liquid, and Yinhuang Capsules. According to Rong Yanyan, the workshop director, the production process has now undergone new improvements. After several days of renovation and optimization, they’ve adjusted both the production molds and machine speeds, shifting from a “mass manpower” approach to one empowered by technology, thereby boosting production efficiency by 20%. Since the outbreak began, the workshop has already shipped a total of 3.962 million abidol hydrochloride capsules to Hubei Province.

“We’re walking on two legs—keeping a firm grip on export sales.” At the 203 and 204 infusion production workshops of Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical, employees are working diligently to produce infusion products for export orders in sizes of 100ml and 500ml. “Our export orders are fully booked and being executed as scheduled,” said Li Bo, Manager of the Foreign Trade Department at Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical. “In February, our exports of infusion products increased by 17.6% compared to the same period last year.”
In front of the Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical’s three-dimensional logistics center, more than ten trucks are lined up in a row, while forklifts shuttle back and forth, busily and efficiently loading and shipping products. Currently, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical’s daily output of intravenous solutions has returned to its normal level. “While ensuring supply to the frontline of the epidemic response, our business staff have proactively served the market, and all operational activities are now fully normalized and running smoothly,” said Wu Hengyao, General Manager of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical.
