“This batch of raw materials is absolutely critical for us—it’s directly linked to the overseas markets we’ve gone to great lengths to secure. We never expected them to be cleared and released so quickly! This has truly relieved our urgent predicament. The Huanghua Port Customs has been incredibly helpful!” On February 18, Wang Hongyong, Sales Manager at Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, who had been anxiously waiting at Huanghua Port Customs to pick up his shipment, finally wore a smile on his face and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officials in charge of Huanghua Port Customs.
It turned out that after resuming work on February 13, Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group located in the Port-Related Pharmaceutical Industry Park of the Bohai New Area in Cangzhou, immediately stepped up production capacity and made every effort to make up for the output lost during the shutdown period. Just then, the inventory of one of the raw materials used to produce caffeine began to dwindle critically. “If we can’t keep up with the supply of raw materials, we won’t be able to maintain continuous production—and for our newly established company, such a loss would be enormous! What on earth should we do?” At that very moment, the raw material that the company had imported happened to arrive at the Huanghua Port terminal. Suddenly, Gao Shuping, Chairwoman of Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, felt reassured: “Quickly get in touch with Huanghua Port Customs and ask for their assistance!”

The request from Guangxiang Pharmaceutical received high attention from the Huanghua Port Customs, which is affiliated with Shijiazhuang Customs. The customs promptly assigned dedicated personnel to liaise with the company. After learning that this raw material is a hazardous chemical, the Huanghua Port Customs immediately developed an inspection and clearance plan to ensure the safe import of the shipment. They also proactively arranged for experts in hazardous chemical inspection to engage with the company. Leveraging the “Internet + Customs” approach, the customs actively communicated with the company via telephone and WeChat, conducting online reviews of the company’s qualifications and product safety data sheets. At the same time, the customs informed the company about the import requirements and safety protection measures for such hazardous goods. On the premise of ensuring proper personal protective equipment for customs officers, they carried out on-site inspections safely and efficiently, guaranteeing timely customs clearance and supporting the company’s resumption of production and operations.
On February 18, the Huanghua Port Customs completed the inspection of this batch of imported pharmaceutical raw materials and immediately processed the customs clearance procedures. Manager Wang Hongyong said, “This is our first time importing pharmaceutical raw materials. We’re grateful for the careful guidance provided by the Huanghua Port Customs throughout the entire process, which ensured that these raw materials were promptly put into production.”
It is understood that Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical is a subsidiary of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group. It is a large-scale pharmaceutical enterprise invested and built by Shisi Pharmaceutical Group in the Cangzhou Bohai New Area, primarily engaged in the production of specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients such as caffeine, theophylline, aminophylline, azithromycin, metronidazole, benzylmetronidazole, nifedipine, and nicotinamide zinteno.
