Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has simultaneously focused on both epidemic prevention and control and production operations, implementing responsibilities at all levels to effectively ensure epidemic prevention measures and stable production activities.
Now, the first thing Song Mingxia, chairperson of the trade union at Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Company, does every day when she arrives at work is to go around the workshops and office departments, checking on employees’ health conditions, disseminating knowledge about epidemic prevention and control, providing psychological counseling, explaining the company’s various work arrangements during the epidemic prevention period, and guiding employees—while continuing to take proper personal preventive measures—to fully dedicate themselves to the production of emergency medicines needed for epidemic control.
In response to the epidemic, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical promptly formulated an operational plan focused on "preventing imported cases and controlling internal spread," strictly implemented a daily reporting system, diligently carried out screening and prevention measures, strengthened emergency duty arrangements, and continuously refined measures for epidemic prevention, risk mitigation, and emergency response, ensuring that all epidemic prevention measures at the company were fully in place. Meanwhile, members of the leadership team gave up their holidays and remained on duty throughout the period, routinely conducting activities such as employee epidemic prevention education, environmental disinfection, public awareness campaigns on epidemic prevention, and preparation of necessary supplies.
Song Mingxia introduced, “We’ve been disseminating science-based knowledge on epidemic prevention and control to our more than 4,600 employees through posters and by leveraging the Shisi Pharmaceutical Employees’ e-Jia WeChat public account to provide daily updates. This helps remind and educate every employee to take proper personal protective measures. At the same time, we’ve adopted a closed-loop management system, conducting daily health declarations and checks for all employees. Temperature checks are carried out for everyone entering or leaving the factory premises and workshop—each person is thoroughly screened and recorded individually. Additionally, we regularly disinfect public areas throughout the factory, and employees dine in staggered shifts to avoid crowding. All staff from the Property Management Department and the Security Department have been fully mobilized, diligently performing daily temperature checks and disinfection spraying on every person and vehicle entering or leaving the factory gates, cafeteria, dormitories, and other access points. By establishing multiple layers of ‘prevention and control barriers,’ we’re creating a ‘safe haven’ that allows our employees to focus on production with peace of mind.”
