Viruses are merciless, yet humanity is full of love. The novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak has deeply touched everyone’s hearts. As regions across the country activate Level-I responses to major public health emergencies, pharmaceutical companies nationwide have stepped up their efforts to fight the epidemic during the Spring Festival. Some employees have even given up their vacations to join the frontline battle against the virus. “To fulfill our original aspirations and mission, as publicity officers of a pharmaceutical company, we must maintain a high political stance, ensuring that our support is helpful rather than disruptive. We should promptly convey the company’s sense of responsibility and commitment to society, stand together in these challenging times, and contribute our modest efforts to winning the battle against the novel coronavirus pneumonia,” said Shi Jianhui, Secretary of the company’s Party Committee, addressing all editors of “Si Yao Ren.”
Currently, the battle against the novel coronavirus has been fully launched. Demand for antiviral and antibacterial drugs on the front lines of prevention and control has surged dramatically. Our company has promptly activated its emergency response mechanism to ensure a steady supply, and employees have eagerly volunteered to “join the fight,” demonstrating a touching sense of social responsibility.
“At a critical juncture, we must not only care for the health of our employees and educate them to strengthen their personal protection measures, thereby demonstrating our humanistic spirit—but also promptly report on the sense of social responsibility that our company has displayed during this pivotal moment, fostering in all employees a firm belief in overcoming these challenges together and highlighting the pharmaceutical company’s commitment and sense of responsibility.”
In recent days, all the editors of the company’s “Four-Drug People” magazine have gone deep into the production frontline to gather first-hand information and carefully plan topics for popular science education on disease prevention and control as well as publicity aimed at the frontline workers. They are using the Shi Si Yao Employees’ e-Home WeChat public account to deliver information on government and medical institution prevention and control protocols to all employees, actively cooperating with the company in its epidemic prevention and control efforts. At the same time, they are sharing news about support efforts sent to the frontline with a wide range of employees and mainstream media, thereby boosting everyone’s morale.

To ensure effective publicity during this special period, everyone from the head of “Si Yao Ren” to ordinary editors voluntarily gave up their rest and threw themselves into work. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Huang Xiaofeng, manager of the Party and Mass Work Department and head of “Si Yao Ren,” received an assignment to report on the situation. He immediately put aside his plans to reunite with his family and rushed to the company’s shipping site to gather firsthand information, conduct interviews, and shoot footage—remaining busy until 6 p.m. Editors Wu Yuqing and Lü Wencong promptly edited and released science-based articles on prevention and control measures, and continuously revised and submitted reports from the front lines, while also liaising with news media for publication. Over the past few days, the “Si Yao Ren” editorial team has quickly produced several key articles, including “Shi Si Yao: Working overtime to boost production and contribute to epidemic prevention and control” and “Shi Si Yao: On the first day of the Lunar New Year, 100,000 bags of antibacterial infusion solutions were dispatched to Hubei,” which have attracted attention from numerous Party-run media outlets and well-known integrated media platforms.

From the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the first day of the 1st lunar month—a span of just three days—“Si Yao Ren” promptly pushed multiple science articles on prevention and control measures to its employees, thereby enhancing their awareness of protective measures. Additionally, the company sent over ten news releases (including photos) to mainstream Party media outlets such as Hebei Daily, Hebei News Network, Changcheng Net, and Shijiazhuang Daily, reporting on the company’s round-the-clock production efforts and its support for frontline epidemic prevention and control. These stories were widely reprinted and received attention from numerous platforms, including People's Daily Online, Xinhua Net, Toutiao, Sina News, Changcheng 24 Hours, Ji Yun client app, Changcheng Net client app, the official WeChat account of Pharmaceutical Economic Report, the official WeChat account of the China Association of Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry, and the official WeChat account of the Hebei Provincial Pharmaceutical Industry Association. The message posted by Shi Si Yao Employee e-Jia, titled “Shi Si Yao: On the First Day of the Lunar New Year, 100,000 Bags of Antibacterial Infusion Solutions Rushed to Hubei,” reached 19,000 views in just over a day. Pan Guangcheng, Executive Chairman of the China Association of Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry, praised the team, saying, “Well done, Shi Yao Ren!” Lei Ying, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the association, also left a message on WeChat, commending the pharmaceutical professionals’ sense of responsibility and paying tribute to the Shi Si Yao team!
