In the fragrant month of April, Shijiazhuang Siyao Group’s innovations are blooming in a uniquely vibrant hue. On April 28, L-malic acid, submitted by the group’s Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., received approval from the National Medical Products Administration and has been officially registered as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed formulations.
In the fragrant month of April, the Shijiazhuang Siyao Group’s innovations are blooming in a uniquely vibrant hue. On April 28, L-malic acid, submitted by the group’s Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., received approval from the National Medical Products Administration and has been officially registered as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed formulations.
It is reported that the L-malic acid active pharmaceutical ingredient recently approved is the group’s sixth new product approved in April, and also the fifth API variety approved by the group this year, following tinidazole, doxofylline, theobromine, and tedizolid phosphate.
It is understood that L-malic acid is an active pharmaceutical ingredient used in Compound Electrolyte Injection (II) (for the treatment of dehydration associated with acidosis and for replenishing extracellular fluid). It is also incorporated into Compound Amino Acid Injection (for patients recovering from surgery who are weak or suffering from liver dysfunction), thereby enhancing the utilization rate of amino acids. Furthermore, L-malic acid is employed in various tablet formulations to impart a fruity flavor and to facilitate absorption and distribution within the body.
