Recently, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has once again achieved a significant milestone in scientific research and development: its Class 4 chemical drug, azithromycin tablets (0.25g), has been granted a drug registration certificate by the National Medical Products Administration and is deemed to have passed the evaluation of quality and efficacy consistency for generic drugs.
It is reported that azithromycin is a second-generation macrolide antibiotic, primarily used to treat lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia caused by susceptible bacteria, as well as skin and soft-tissue infections, acute otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis—upper respiratory tract infections.
In September of this year, the group’s azithromycin dry suspension was the first domestically approved by a pharmaceutical company and was deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation. The recent approval of azithromycin tablets (0.25g) will strongly promote product serialization and diversification, optimize the company’s product portfolio, and boost its high-quality development. Since the beginning of this year, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has obtained a total of 36 product approvals, including 27 formulation approvals.
