Following its earlier achievement of obtaining the active pharmaceutical ingredient for argatroban and becoming the first domestic company to receive approval for the production of azithromycin dry suspension, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has once again achieved remarkable success in product development: two specifications of metronidazole sodium chloride injection packaged in polypropylene infusion bottles—250 ml: 1.25 g and 100 ml: 0.5 g—have received drug manufacturing registration approvals.
Following its earlier achievement of obtaining the active pharmaceutical ingredient for agatrobane and becoming the first domestic company to receive approval for the production of azithromycin dry suspension, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group has once again scored a major success in product development. The company’s application for two specifications of metronidazole sodium chloride injection packaged in polypropylene infusion bottles—250 ml: 1.25 g and 100 ml: 0.5 g—has been granted drug production registration approval. This approval will further enrich the packaging options within the metronidazole product line, meeting the diverse needs of different customer segments.
It is reported that the approved product builds upon the previously approved multi-layer co-extruded film infusion bags that had already passed consistency evaluation, adding plastic bottle packaging. Metronidazole is a commonly used antibiotic primarily employed to treat or prevent systemic or local infections caused by anaerobic bacteria, including infections of the abdominal cavity, digestive tract, female reproductive system, and oral cavity.
Meanwhile, the Group has received approval from the National Medical Products Administration to use its self-produced rosuvastatin calcium active pharmaceutical ingredient in the manufacture of the corresponding dosage form—rosuvastatin calcium tablets. Previously, Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical Group had successively obtained manufacturing licenses for both the rosuvastatin calcium active pharmaceutical ingredient and rosuvastatin calcium tablets. Rosuvastatin calcium is primarily used for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed hyperlipidemia.
