It is understood that liver fibrosis affects a large number of patients worldwide. Liver fibrosis represents a common pathological stage shared by various chronic liver injuries; in severe cases, it can progress to cirrhosis, ultimately leading to liver failure and even liver cancer. Currently, there are no effective drugs available to reverse liver fibrosis. As the leader of the innovative science and technology team for “Anti-Infective and Anti-Tumor Drug Research and Development” in Henan Province and an expert in the major national science and technology project “Major New Drug Creation during the 13th Five-Year Plan,” Professor Dai Guifu from Zhengzhou University—leading the research and development team for Zhengzhou University’s “Innovative Drug ADN-9 for the Treatment of Liver Fibrosis”—has conducted systematic research on this project for over a decade. According to reports, the innovative drug ADN-9 is derived from the natural product andrographolide. Through systematic molecular optimization and targeted indication screening, a drug molecule with particularly remarkable efficacy in treating liver fibrosis has been identified. Administered orally, ADN-9 exhibits high efficacy, low toxicity, and multi-target synergistic effects, fully demonstrating the therapeutic advantages of natural medicines in addressing complex diseases.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Su Xuejun, General Manager of the company, delivered an enthusiastic speech: “We have established a solid foundation of cooperation with Zhengzhou University. This signing ceremony will mark a new milestone in deepening our collaboration and achieving mutual success. We are confident that, through the joint efforts of both sides, we will surely turn the research on anti-hepatic fibrosis drugs into a model of university-enterprise cooperation. Our collaboration is bound to yield abundant rewards and will undoubtedly make new contributions to the development of both the university and the enterprise, as well as to the health of the people.”
