At the company, He Yazhuo is a well-known figure: he has numerous achievements, has won many awards, and has generated substantial economic benefits. Yet he’s also an extraordinary individual—no matter how poorly foreign equipment “adapts” to local conditions, he can always get it working smoothly.

Fresh out of college, He Yazhuo was assigned to the filling workshop at Siyao and began working as an operator.

At that time, the workshop where He Yazhuo worked was equipped exclusively with imported machinery. Because the specifications of the formulations being produced varied, the soft bags on the production lines had to be changed frequently. While an experienced veteran could complete the changeover of an entire production line in just one hour, He Yazhuo took three hours to do the same job.

A small incident made He Yazhuo realize the importance of learning from practice. So, in his spare time, he proactively volunteered to be a student to the master craftsmen, eagerly participated in technical training, and seized every opportunity to learn.

During those years, except for eating and sleeping, He Yazhuo spent every other moment in the workshop, constantly circling around the equipment. What’s more, he was always eager to help others—after finishing his own tasks, he’d always go over to lend a hand to whoever needed it. Someone once said, “You don’t have to worry about these tasks.” But he thought differently: “The more I do, the more I’ll learn, and the broader my perspective will become!”

Sure enough, He Yazhuo, who loves to think critically, came up with an idea that has since earned universal acclaim—“changing the film in the formulation filling workshop without stopping the machine.” Every time the formulation filling workshop replaces the film on its equipment, it has to halt production, delaying the manufacturing schedule. How could they speed things up? Led by He Yazhuo, the workshop’s core team conducted repeated studies and finally developed a method for changing the film without shutting down the machine.

Later, He Yazhuo learned that this technology was leading the nation—and even equipment experts from Germany gave them a thumbs-up.

Once he embarked on the path of innovation, He Yazhuo simply couldn't stop. From then on, he wanted to modify every piece of equipment—“to make it even more perfect.” Most of the machines in the factory were imported from abroad, so mastering equipment from multiple countries became his goal.

In 2009, He Yazhuo noticed that the heating elements in the equipment had to be replaced every month, and each element cost as much as 12,000 yuan—a very high expense. “How could we extend the lifespan of these heating elements?” After extensively reviewing various materials and conducting numerous experiments, He Yazhuo finally discovered that the heating elements were being replaced because they tended to stick together after exposure to high temperatures. By adding a simple device at the points where sticking occurred, he was able to solve this problem. After implementing this technology, the service life of the heating elements was extended to six months.

The pharmaceutical workshop needs to periodically fumigate and disinfect using toxic gases, and ensuring the safety of operators has proven to be a significant challenge. He Yazhuo took on this issue.

He Yazhuo discovered that mastering reaction time is the key to solving the problem. Together with his team, he designed a formaldehyde disinfection generation device that addresses the shortcomings of previous methods and maximizes operator safety. This achievement has also successfully obtained a national invention patent.

“Doing well alone isn’t good enough—only when everyone does well together is it truly good!” He Yazhuo has always held firmly to this belief. In 2016, the “He Yazhuo Employee Innovation Studio,” led by He Yazhuo, was established in response to this very principle.

The “He Yazhuo Innovation Studio” welcomes participation from everyone—regardless of position, educational background, or seniority—providing a platform for equal engagement and free discussion. Over the past few years, the studio has become the “Huangpu Military Academy” for Sihua Pharmaceutical in nurturing technical talent. Today, many of his “apprentices” have risen to become key personnel and skilled technicians in their respective positions. At Sihua Pharmaceutical, being invited to join the studio is considered a great honor for any employee.

When it comes to his colleagues, He Yazhuo never holds back. He places his years-long work logs directly in the studio for everyone to borrow and consult. From individual innovators to a “talent chain,” from small inventions to “distinctive specialties,” and from solving tough problems to boosting development—He shares his experience and expertise with everyone wholeheartedly. “How many nails can one person hammer with all the iron he carries? Only when more people master these skills can we nurture true master craftsmen!” says He Yazhuo.

In 2019 alone, the studio completed 186 technological innovations, which, after being promoted and applied, generated economic benefits totaling over ten million yuan. The studio has successively received a series of honors, including “Shijiazhuang City Innovation Studio,” “Shijiazhuang City Workers’ Vanguard,” and “Hebei Province Innovation Studio.”

“There are no shortcuts on the path of innovation—only by enduring loneliness and diving deep into research can we reap success.” As the leader of the innovation team, He Yazhuo is confident that he will continue to lead his team toward new heights.
