During the pandemic, the trade union of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has been fully committed to providing “attentive” services to help employees resume work and production, alleviating their worries and ensuring that they can devote themselves wholeheartedly to the fight against the epidemic and the guarantee of supply.
Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical is one of the key enterprises designated by the provincial and municipal governments to ensure the supply of epidemic prevention and control materials. Since the outbreak, in order to guarantee the timely provision of urgently needed medicines to frontline areas such as Hubei, Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical has been racing against time and going all out. Employees have voluntarily given up their Spring Festival holidays and worked overtime to ramp up production. “The food in the cafeteria has indeed improved compared to before,” said Song Mingxia, the union chairperson. “The meals are pretty good—sometimes we even take some home with us, which lets us have more time to relax at home.” She added that the company has stepped up its investment in improving employees’ living conditions, and these heartwarming initiatives have made employees feel deeply cared for by the company as they continue their frontline efforts in fighting the epidemic and maintaining production.
As the “family” and “caring companion” of employees, the trade union of Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical Company keeps in mind what employees need and addresses the urgent concerns of the enterprise. The union also goes all out to help frontline workers solve practical problems. When it became clear during the pandemic that it was difficult for employees to procure the masks essential for production and epidemic prevention, the union made every effort to secure supply sources and actively reported the issue to higher authorities, thereby effectively resolving the problem and ensuring that frontline workers received their personal protective equipment in a timely manner. In response to psychological anxieties among employees returning to work, the union promptly provided psychological counseling. At the same time, the union vigorously promoted the “two points and one line” work-and-life model among employees, safeguarding both their physical health and stable production operations. Moreover, the union carefully arranged staggered meal times for employees in phases, reducing the risk of epidemic transmission caused by large gatherings of people.
Currently, all production workshops at Shijiazhuang Fourth Pharmaceutical have been fully operational. The thoughtful support provided has greatly boosted the employees’ enthusiasm for work, and the production capacity of various pharmaceutical preparations is gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels. In particular, the production capacity of the antiviral drug abidol hydrochloride capsules and the antibacterial drug moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium injection—both designated as emergency medicines—is being rapidly ramped up, thereby effectively meeting the medication needs on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control.
